Welcome to the Whitmore Bay Surf Life Saving Club web site! Here you will find information about the Club and details on how to get involved in the exciting world of Surf Lifesaving.
The Lifeguard Club was established in 2003 and is based at the main beach on Barry Island in the Vale of Glamorgan, South Wales. The Club is committed to ensuring Whitmore Bay remains a safe and enjoyable beach by providing a voluntary lifeguard service and promoting water safety within the community.


The Club has over 70 active members who take part in a wide range of activities including beach patrols, surf sports, nipper and junior activities, first aid and lifeguard courses and the promotion of beach safety in Barry and abroad.
New members are always welcome. Children aged 7 - 12 can join nippers. 13 - 18 year olds can join juniors and anyone older can join seniors.

Warriors finish 12th in Round 2 of Surf Rowing Series
Conditions at Saunton Sands, North Devon were similar to Barry, with a strong cross shore wind and 1ft messy chop... However, the Warriors failed to capitalise in these 'home' conditions. Fitness (or lack of) played a big part, with the Warriors keeping up with the other crews to the can, but with no helping swell, loosing out on the return leg. Still a good weekend. UK Champs next - 21st of June @ Saunton.
Whitmore Nippers Enjoy Mumbles Carnival
