Rescue Board

New Dolphin Dominator Racing Ski
The club has purchased a new club racing ski with support from the Sports Council for Wales. The ski will be used for training and lifesaving competitions.

First Sponsorship Deal.
Griffiths Ings Solicitors of High Street, Barry have kindly sponsored the club £500. This money has also been matched by the Sports Council for Wales and will be used to buy a new surf rescue board.

Whitmore Bay SLSC is now registered with VCVS who offer support and services to voluntary and community organisations active in the Vale of Glamorgan. More information can be found on their web site - VCVS

Newgale 'Training' Weekend.
29 club members, family and friends made the trip to Newgale, Pembrokeshire on the 28/04/2006. Everyone had a great time even though the surf wasn't great. Activities included rescue board paddling, kayaking, surfing, climbing, coasteering, kiting and seal wrestling.

Nipper Section Has Been Successfully Launched.
The nippers currently meet on Sunday evenings at Whitmore Bay where they learn water safety skills and improve their fitness. Nippers are aged between 7 and 12. Contact us for more information.

Whitmore Bay competed in the 2006 Welsh lifesaving championships held in the Wales National Swimming Pool in Swansea. Ross Fraser competed in the individual events which included sprints, manikin carries, manikin tows and fin races. The club finished in 8th place overall.

Whitmore Bay SLSC A team placed 10th out of 28 teams
The 3rd Still Water life saving competition was held at Aberavon on the 05/02/2006.  The team are now in 17th position overall due to missing the second meet.
