The club offers a number of life saving qualifications from first aid to full beach lifeguard. Courses are aimed towards the Surf Life Saving Association of Wales, Water Safety Awards which are recognised world wide.
Whitmore Bay SLSC run a number of first aid courses and beach safety awareness sessions for groups and organisations in Barry and the Vale of Glamorgan. The Club also supports a Beach Lifeguard Training Project in The Gambia.
Membership fees are due for renewal on the 1st January each year. A proportion of the membership fee goes towards providing personal accident insurance.
The other key part of surf lifesaving is the competitive sport which evolved from the training activities of lifeguards. Lifesaving sport is promoted in the club. Senior, Junior and Nipper members of Whitmore Bay SLSC enter indoor and outdoor competitions throughout the year at regional and national levels. For dates of upcoming competitions please visit out calendar.
The club holds regular social events throughout the year including BBQ's, surf weekends and evening functions. More details can be found on the calendar page.
